New Zealand’s exclusive distributors of the Gason product range, Drummond & Etheridge Ltd, are reintroducing the popular Chris Grow Rapier Vineyard Mowers.

The first shipment of mowers is due to arrive towards the end of August, with several already marked as sold.

“Chris Grow Vineyard Mowers are well regarded throughout New Zealand for their strong engineering and innovation. Their return as part of the Gason line-up is greatly anticipated,” says Alan Cottington, Blenheim Branch Manager.

“Some of the original Chris Grow mowers are still at work in Marlborough, after 15 years doing 1000 hours of mowing a year. They are over-engineered and very, very robust.”

Australian based AF Gason Pty Ltd has a proud history of manufacturing excellence, and since acquiring Chris Grow in 2010 have continued to develop the range in-house.

Fabricated with the same heavy-duty gearbox and steel engineering as the original Chris Grow mowers, the Gason Twin-Rotor Rapier and Front/Rear Vineyard Mowers can be fitted with extra features such as dual mulching blades and trash anvil attachments.

In addition to vineyard mowers, the Gason product line-up includes VHD mowers and slashers designed for public works, crop stubble mulchers, and other agricultural equipment such as seeders, spreaders and cultivators.

“Our relationship with Gason makes a lot of sense. Being family-owned companies, we share the same values when it comes to our customers,” says Tristan Leov, Group Sales Manager. “Having Chris Grow involved is also a big plus for existing mower owners who value his extensive knowledge of the product.”

“We’re confident the team at Gason can cater to New Zealand’s operating conditions. They’ve already introduced a narrower 1.8m mower option to suit our row widths, and we look forward to being involved in future product development.”

Based on market demand to reintroduce the Chris Grow mowers, Drummond & Etheridge’s initial Gason product shipment caters primarily to the vineyard mower range.

“Once distribution channels for the mowers have been set-up, we intend to extend our imported range,” says Alan. “We’re also working on setting up retail outlets in regions throughout New Zealand that aren’t currently serviced by a Drummond & Etheridge branch.”
