Work Experience Placements
Work Experience Placements
Here at Drummond & Etheridge, we have the ability to place you in Work Experience throughout all of our departments, across any of our branches.
This is a hands on way for you to get to experience the role, the team, and the company and help you make a decision on what apprenticeship you can undertake to start your career off.
Work Experience can be 1 or 2 days a week, and can be for up to 6 months a year. Work Experience is open to all students that maybe are not quite sure about what type of trade they want to pursue, and it’s a great way to find what your next career move will be.
Work Experience places are limited due to the time required to ensure that all placements have full support from the entire team.
Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships
Joining Drummond & Etheridge Ltd as an apprentice allows you the opportunity to achieve your goals in a supportive environment whilst working with the latest machinery and technology.
We have designed an apprenticeship programme (utilising MITO) that offers regular classroom sessions to complete and sign off theory components as well as daily on-the-job training with our Senior Technicians, Foreman and Training Manager.
You also receive regular remuneration increases related to MITO credit level achievements. We also assist with tooling (including computers), fees and offer an overseas exchange program, once you are qualified, with a John Deere dealership in the UK.
An apprenticeship will require a commitment from you, and a lot of hard work. You will be rewarded with an immersive learning environment, regular pay reviews, ongoing development and exposure to all of our experienced team, and working with some of the best in the business.
Overseas Exchanges
Overseas Exchanges
We offer overseas exchanges with Dealerships in Europe and America for Technicians and Parts Consultants, this is usually for 6 months.
Due to COVID, this will resume late 2023 pending border requirements.

Our Recruitment Process
Our Recruitment Process
We aim to work through our recruitment process as quickly as possible, but usually this is what you can expect;
- You’ve sent in your application
- Our team will review and create a long list and send to the hiring manager
- Our hiring manager will review and select applicants for interviews
- Interviews will be organised at a time that best suits everyone (an interview could be a meet and greet, full interview with structured questions, or coffee chats OR maybe a few of these)
- On conclusion of a final interview, you will be advised on the outcome
- If successful, we will complete your references and call to let you know that you have got the job
- You paperwork is sent to you, and a few weeks later you join the team
Our team work really hard to ensure they make contact with all applications that have applied through the available job adverts. This process can take up to 4 weeks.
Please note this process might change due to varying circumstances throughout the year.
